April Update in the Garden

April has been a good month here in the Rows!

We utilized the big machines to get quality work done in a fraction of the time. We changed our rows up, amended the soil, and added black tarp to suppress weeds.

We had our first ride on the new mechanical planter! Thanks to Royal Neighbors for the grant that purchased this great tool . We were able to plant the cabbages and broccoli much faster and uniformly! See photo below:

Now, those plants are looking fantastic!

Above: Onions are growing well! Notice the high tunnels to the right that are prepped for some trellising plants (Long squash and green beans).
