July 2024 in the Garden

July has been a tough month for our rows with extreme weather but we have prevailed!

We continue to harvest tomatoes, zucchini, patty pan squash, crook neck squash, and over 220 pounds of garlic amongst others. Sadly, we had to replant the green beans as the extreme hot weather destroyed those crops.

Above: Our garlic harvesters!

Above: 220 pounds of garlic needs to dry out before distribution

Above: Many thanks to our interns for building a large shade tent for the volunteers. It has been very helpful!!
